GreekYearbook
is the nationwide leader in fraternity and sorority
photo services. Started in 1999, GreekYearbook
quickly became one of the most widely used websites
by college students all over the United States.
Currently GreekYearbook works at over 400 Universities
all over the nation and Canada.
GreekYearbook
originally started as an event photography business
for Greeks. GYB photographers would attend small
events like date parties, formals, alumni events,
socials, Greek week, and other various weekly
events. Each year GreekYearbook on average would
be hired for 600-800 events at over 60 Universities.
Eventually, GreekYearbook started to develop as
well into the group photography (called bid day
photography, click HERE
for info), national convention photography, and
portrait photography (called composite photography,
businesses. GreekYearbook is currently the only
nationwide company that offers all of these services
for Greeks.
Although
located in Maryland, GreekYearbook offers internships
each year to students all over the nation. Students
within the Maryland area are able to work at the
national headquarters of GreekYearbook and get
hands on experience. In addition, students at
various Universities are able to work from home
for credits only.
The
GreekYearbook internship program is a unique program
where students are able to work in an environment
they are familiar with, a college atmosphere.
Interns work directly with the Vice President
of Business Development and Marketing. Interns
are introduced to innovative marketing initiatives
and strategies to help growth in various underdeveloped
regions. GreekYearbook encourages interns to be
creative in developing new marketing techniques
for the college student of today.
GreekYearbook
internship programs do not require the student
to be part of a fraternity or sorority. We employ
individuals that show strong personable skills,
creativity, good work history, and who have a
large desire to learn. Most of our interns have
been business or communication majors; however
we are looking for anyone who fits the mold of
GreekYearbook.
Due
to the type of industry GreekYearbook is a part
of, the office environment tends to be a laid
back, fun, and creative environment. This also
means that individuals working with GreekYearbook
must prove to be mature enough to handle making
their own schedules, work, and judgment.
While
most of the time GreekYearbook offers internships
for credits (earn up to 6 credits), GreekYearbook
during some seasons will offer internships for
pay. Each applicant is considered on an individual
basis, and only a select few are picked for paid
internships while majority are for credit. Only
after an interview will the applicant be told
what their options are for the internship.
Some of the responsibilities for interns include:
-
market research
- affiliate acquisition
- mass emailing
- creation of promotional items
- phone calls to past or current clients
- mass mailings
- administrative duties
- marketing campaign creation
- business development
- advertising research
- some travel to large shoots in regional area
- surveying
GreekYearbook
